Goliath stood and shouted at the Isrealites, ”What are you doing there, lined up for battle? I am a philistine, you slaves of Saul! Choose one of your men to fight me. If he wins and kill me, we will be your slaves, but If I win and kill him, you will be our slaves. Samuel 17:8-9
There is no battle in life without a pillar holding it. Goliath was the pillar behind the philistine’s army and when he died the entire army collapsed, regardless of their outnumbering the isrealite armies. Applicably, when the thirteen warriors swear their allegiance to protect the villagers from the uninterrupted fiery wolf skin invaders, by consultation they discovered that victory can only be achieved if they locate and kill the king and queen from among the ten thousand identical bandits. And the moment they did, they were surprised to obtain victory in a short while beyond expectation.
Lack of identifies do cost us more than usual time over a challenge; we often waste plenteous time fighting out in all direction at what to be many headed enemy. Meanwhile, strong hold can be traced to a single strong individual; the strongest, the instigator, the stirrer, the obstacle, the most important of all. To unmask an easy victory in a tough battle is to first identify the problem, then be sensitive enough to trace and track down the strong hold behind it, through the help of the spirit of God. Remember; if you allow stronghold to operate, they will forever remain the chief stumbling block. So it is preferable to dissolve their power and influence by engaging them in fasting and prayer. Hammer at the source of the pillar and the entire battle will collapse.
When the chief hold of a particular problem tackled, just like the way David tackled Goliath, victory is assured. On most occasions, our strength may not be enough, but to seek God’s intervention through prayers and the words of God in pulling down those strong holds. The good news is, all strongholds may not be redeemable but were vulnerable to defeat, confront it once discovered, and hesitate not, in bringing it down.
